Chopped Fiberglass Reinforcement for Concrete Countertops
High Zirconia Alkali-Resistant Chopped Fiberglass strengthens the concrete and helps prevent cracking from shrinkage. When both chopped fiberglass and fiberglass net are used together in a concrete countertop application, steel reinforcement is unnecessary. Chopped fibers can be used in conjunction with more traditional methods of support such as re-bar and metal netting for additional internal support.
Concrete countertop fibers are 13mm in length and are included in both the DCI Concrete Countertop Mix and Concrete Countertop Admix. Add 17.5 grams of chopped fiber to every 50lbs. of standard 5000psi concrete countertop mix.
